parrot cage?
I'm building a parrot cage out of wire mesh, and I'm using cable ties to hold the pieces together. Is there something better to work with other than cable ties. I'd like some sort of metal that can be wrapped around very tightly, something like pig staples but better. Also I need a solution to the door problem. I'm not sure as how to go about attaching a sturdy door. Maybe using aluminum tubes would help. Any suggestions are good. Thanks.

Training a puppy to be good around birds?
How can I train a young dog to be good around birds? I would be supervising them together but it would be annoying if I had to lock the puppy in the kitchen every time my birds were out. They're normally out so often. Also are there any breeds you know which would be easy enough to train around birds?
When will my Eclectus parrot start talking?
My Solomon Island Eclectus parrot is 7 mos old. I talk to him all the time. No peep (no pun intended) out of him yet. The only sound I've ever heard him make is while he was sitting on the window ledge, someone walked by and scared him and he squawked. But that's it.
